Whoah! Our hazelnut production increased exponentially this year. From a small bowl of nuts last year we have upgraded to a huge basket plus some more bowls.
The nuts sat at our windows to dry for the past three weeks. Our initial attempts to crack them manually one-by-one quickly led us to buy a hand-cranked nut cracker to speed things up. It works much better than expected and we were able to process several jars of nuts within an hour.
Then into the oven for 10 minutes at 180C. Soo good!
